care field? Follow your passion while also earning A Cowboy’s Calling certificate.
A Cowboy’s Calling is OSU Center for Health Sciences high school outreach programs
that are designed for students interested in a career in the health care or science
industries.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is it, and who can apply?
All high school students will be eligible to apply to the program and receive A Cowboy's Calling Certificate. This will certify that the participants are dedicated and high-achieving students. The Outreach team will be able to connect with participants who choose to attend one of our campuses (Tulsa or Tahlequah) after receiving their bachelor's degree.
- How do I apply?
To be admitted to this program and be eligible for a certificate, students must complete a formal application and submit a reference letter from a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Reference letters can be uploaded during the application, or emailed to chs_outreach@okstate.edu.

For students who will graduate in 2022-2024
Paths to achieve a certificate are below. Approved activities are those offered by OSU-CHS Outreach or partner department on campus (see above for examples.) Volunteer experiences include any community service activities; shadow experiences must be with a health professional. Essay topics to be provided upon application.
