Project AURA (Advancing Unity in Rural America)

A SAMHSA funded Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional Center Program

Overview:

Project AURA is an initiative of the Center for Rural Health at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. Project AURA is responsible for developing and disseminating resources, training, and technical assistance that focuses on opioid and stimulant misuse in rural areas throughout HHS Region 6 (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas). Robust partnerships and collaborative approaches within Region 6 are essential to the success of Project AURA. Together with our partners we will:

  • Identify model programs
  • Develop and update materials related to the prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery activities for SUD and OUD
  • Ensure that high-quality training is provided
