Dr. Kayse Shrum speaking at the VA Ground Breaking Event

“Our veterans in northeast Oklahoma deserve a much-needed, easily accessible modern medical center where they can receive quality, compassionate care in a timely manner. For OSU-CHS, it’s been a great privilege to be part of this visionary project. While caring for veterans is a top priority, the affiliation with the Veterans Affairs Hospital near our Tulsa campus will benefit our students and residents tremendously and further enhance our medical school nationally.”

- Dr. Kayse Shrum
President of Oklahoma State University

Vision of Care

Partnerships making the project possible
The VA in Tulsa (VHiT) is becoming a reality due to the blossoming partnerships between federal, state and local government as well OSU Medicine, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation.

Future Care

The OSU Academic Medical District takes shape
The VA Hospital in Tulsa is the next step in developing the OSU Academic Medical District anchored by the OSU Medical Center and nearby Physicians Office Building and Houston Center, which house 10 OSU Medicine clinics. Soon the new psychiatric hospital, operated by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, will break ground next door to the VA Hospital.
