Training and Education
The OMECO/OSU pediatric residency program features a formal curriculum that emphasizes the development of osteopathic pediatric medicine competencies. Ambulatory care and comprehensive pediatric medical services are emphasized. The residency program offers a well-rounded, quality training program in pediatric medicine and is designed to prepare each resident for a successful career in pediatric practice or continue with further training in a pediatric fellowship.

Saint Francis Hospital, a 1,112-bed tertiary center and Tulsa's leading trauma and emergency center, also includes the region's only children's hospital. Saint Francis Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive pediatric care to kids in eastern Oklahoma including specialty care with medical and surgical services, pediatric intensive care, a level IV NICU, St. Jude Affiliate Clinic and Cystic Fibrosis Care Center.

The country's largest single site osteopathic hospital, OSU Medical Center, is located just blocks from the OSU Center for Health Sciences. What began as Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital by a group of pioneering osteopathic physicians in 1944 has grown to become one of the nation's largest osteopathic health care centers. OSU Medical Center is a flagship hospital in eastern Oklahoma. Licensed for 426 beds, with premier emergency and outpatient programs, it is poised for great outreach and growth in the 21st century. Staff physicians have trained at some of the nation's most prestigious medical institutions and have a high regard for their personal role in postgraduate education. Internships and residency positions in many different disciplines are available. OSU Medical Center is significantly involved in clinical training for medical students, nurses, therapists and technicians from several area schools and colleges.

Didactics & Conferences
Academic Afternoon
Residents attend didactics on Wednesday afternoons. Academic afternoons include a pediatric board review curriculum with a combination of faculty and resident-led presentations, quarterly simulation labs, quarterly OMT workshops and more.
Grand Rounds
OSU Medical Center presents grand rounds on most Tuesday mornings, including both national and in-house presenters, and topics centered on practice and professional development as well as clinical updates.
