Internet of Things (IOT) Digital Forensics
IoT devices, items that connect to the internet but do not typically use a screen to interact with the user, present new challenges to digital forensic science as few digital forensic tools are available to investigate these devices. Compounding the issue is the lack of knowledge regarding the types of investigative data that may be available on a specific device. A collaboration, led by Oklahoma State University’s School of Forensic Sciences, Center for Fire & Explosives, Forensic Investigations, Training & Research (CENFEX) program and VTO Labs, will seek to inform and train the digital evidence community regarding IoT devices. All resources from this Department of Justice grant are available to U.S. law enforcement, public safety officers and prosecutors.
