Curriculum
The Athletic Training program at OSU offers focused coursework in spinal health care, gross anatomy, radiology and contemporary modalities totaling 56 credit hours of education. It also includes interdisciplinary education with biomedical sciences and osteopathic professionals. Students’ capstone semester includes research project and career-focused clinical experience. The program focuses on:
- Injury and illness prevention and wellness protection
- Clinical evaluation and diagnosis
- Immediate and emergency care
- Treatment and rehabilitation
- Organization and professional health and well-being

Research and Faculty
The OSU Athletic Training program is the first athletic training program associated with an osteopathic medicine program. This allows students to gain valuable experience working directly with the osteopathic faculty as well as working side by side with osteopathic medicine students.

Admissions
Admissions requirements include a 3.0 GPA; a “B” in all prerequisite coursework; 50 hours of observation under a certified athletic trainer; and submission of all supplemental documentation materials.
On December 15, priority review of application begins, and February 1 is the final application deadline. Final selection for admission into the formal athletic training program is determined by objective evaluation of all documentation. Students are notified of their acceptance/ rejection by March 15.
Cost & Assistance
Oklahoma resident and non-resident tuition rates are applicable to students in the School of Allied Health. Costs outside of tuition and fees are estimates based on previous years and provided as a guide for students.
