Greetings from the Program Director
Thank you for considering the OMECO at Oklahoma State University Obstetrics and Gynecology
Residency Program. Our residency, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers a dynamic and comprehensive
residency experience rooted in the principles of osteopathic medicine. We attract
residents from across the nation who are seeking a rigorous, hands-on training environment
that emphasizes both clinical excellence and compassionate patient care. Our residents
benefit from diverse obstetric training at two of Tulsa’s leading hospitals, as well
as extensive gynecologic experience that spans urban and rural communities. This unique
combination ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to address the broad spectrum
of women's health needs. At OMECO OSU, our mission is to educate and train residents
to become dedicated and compassionate obstetricians and highly competent gynecologic
surgeons who will protect and improve the health of the women of Oklahoma.
Our patient population is incredibly diverse, including many underserved women and those with high-risk pregnancies, offering our residents invaluable opportunities to develop their clinical skills. Through hands-on experience, our residents become proficient in managing complex obstetric and gynecologic cases, working alongside subspecialists within Tulsa's medical community. By the time they graduate, they are well-equipped for any career path, whether it’s general practice, academic medicine, hospitalist roles, or further specialization through fellowship training.
One of the most distinctive aspects of our program is the camaraderie within our department. Our residents form a close-knit support system, and we truly consider each other family. Resident wellness is a top priority, demonstrated by both our on-campus initiatives and the social events we hold off-campus, where residents and their families come together to build meaningful connections.
If you're interested in an audition rotation with us, we encourage you to reach out early, as these spots are limited and fill up quickly. As you explore the information available, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
