Biography
After retiring from the Marine Corps as an EOD Officer in 2001, Tom joined the Federal
                           Air Marshal Service and served as the Explosives Branch Chief of the National Explosives
                           Detection Canine Program, and with the Explosives Division as an Explosives Security
                           Specialist until 2010. 
Tom then spent 5 years working in Afghanistan, Iraq, Cambodia, Tanzania and India
                           in a number of positions; including, in-country Program Manager of the JATAC Counter-IED
                           Mobile Training Teams, Lead of a Triage laboratory in a CEXC, instructor training
                           deminers in high-threat areas, and as a guest professor. 
In March 2014, Tom joined the OSU, AEI program as an adjunct professor, and moved
                           to a full-time position in December 2014. 
Tom’s book, Practical Military Ordnance Identification; part of the “Practical Aspects
                           of Criminal and Forensic Investigation” series, was published in 2014. In 2015, he
                           was promoted to “Fellow” in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
