State Office of Rural Health Program
The Oklahoma Office of Rural Heath is the state designated entity that administers the State Office of Rural Health (SORH) Grant. With this funding, the Office of Rural Health provides assistance, targeting rural hospitals and communities in the state in the following ways:
- Collection and Dissemination of Information
- Coordination of Rural Health Activities
- Provision of Technical Assistance
The Oklahoma Office of Rural Health and the Oklahoma Primary Care Association have partnered to provide 3RNet as a free resource for hospitals to recruit physicians. 3RNet is a nonprofit job board specifically geared to candidates interested in rural and underserved America.
National Rural Health Day
Over 60 million Americans live in rural and frontier communities. Rural communities are wonderful places to live and work, but these communities also have unique healthcare needs, which is why the National Organization of State Offices of Rural sets aside the third Thursday of every November to celebrate National Rural Health Day!
