Program Description
The program is Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited
and designed to prepare residents to immediately enter careers in Family Medicine
primary care. Graduating residents are qualified to sit for the American Board of
Osteopathic Family Medicine (ABOFP). The curriculum is designed to accommodate various
learning styles with opportunities for experiential, didactic, research, and simulated
learning. Residents work with diverse patient populations and see a variety of pathology
during their monthly rotations. Responsibility and autonomy increase throughout training
as residents demonstrate proficiency. Multiple opportunities exist for residents
to teach medical students and peers at the bedside, in the classroom, and in the simulation
laboratory. Further, residents have the opportunity to critically evaluate and explore
the medical literature, to participate in clinical research and quality improvement,
and to optimize patient care through advocacy.
Residents are welcomed into a supportive environment where each member of the team
is valued and empowered with the knowledge and skills to achieve their professional
goals. We encourage you to reach out to us if you have questions.
