To achieve better health outcomes and ensure an optimal patient experience, the clinical site develops, assesses, and monitors its strategies and efforts to create an inclusive environment focused on collaboration, respect and improving interprofessional learning. The optimal clinical learning environment commits to strategies, policies, procedures, and practices that are equitable and inclusive of all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, national origin, color, culture, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, genetic identity, age, ability, religion, veteran status, and other personal characteristics.
Interprofessional education and learning improves team based learning and patient care which diversifies various perspectives and enhances a longer-term impact on future relationships within the healthcare environment.
The clinical learning environment fosters an environment that addresses the unique needs of every patient, enhances the learner experience, and eliminates disparities in quality of care.
