OSU-COM Commencement Ceremony

Thursday, May 16th, 7:30 p.m., Tulsa Mabee Center


No tickets are required. The venue will open for guests one hour prior to the ceremony start time.

 

For those unable to attend, a live stream of the ceremony will be available via Inside OSU

 

Security

All persons are subject to search upon entering the arena. This includes but is not limited to graduates, guests, faculty, and staff.

 

Items not permitted in the venue: weapons, hats, large bags, outside food or drinks (these are available for purchase inside the venue if needed), flowers (these are available for purchase inside the venue if needed), airhorns, bells or other noisemakers. We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding.

 

Approved Graduation Regalia

Individuals who participate in the commencement ceremony are expected to only wear regalia approved by the university which includes college of medicine regalia, doctoral tam, hood, black gown, OSU medallion, academic honor cords and tribal stole (if applicable).

 

Medallions will be distributed with the rental of a Cap and Gown from the Stillwater University Store. Caps and gowns are sized by height/weight. Caps are one size fits all.

 

Please contact the Office of Student Life with any questions regarding attire.

 

D.O. Regalia and Announcements

D.O. academic regalia and announcements can be ordered from the OSU Bookstore in Stillwater via shopokstate.com. The ordering window for renting D.O. Regalia begins on March 4th and ends on March 15th. Once ordered, items can be picked up at the OSU-CHS Bookstore located at 1111 W 17th St, Tulsa, OK 74107 between April 29th and May 16th.

 

If you need someone else to pick up your items on your behalf, you must provide written permission and identification to Kris Mattix at kmattix@okstate.edu. Please note that all items must be returned to the bookstore in their original box by May 22nd, 2024.

 

Rental option includes an all-black gown, hood, mortar board, tassel, & medallion.

 

Honorary Hooder

Honorary Hooders are an optional part of the commencement ceremony and limited to one person only. The chosen individual must possess a terminal degree (DO, MD, DDS, PhD, JD, EdD, DVM, etc.). Deadline to register an Honorary Hooder is April 15th Please see email from Angela Bacon with the Honorary Hooder Registration Form.

  • All hooders must wear academic regalia. This can be purchased from any site or borrowed from an individual. The color of the hooder regalia is not restricted to any specific shade and all color types will be accepted.
  • To participate in this program, you need to fill out a registration form. Once you have submitted the form, we will notify you regarding the status of your application. If your application is approved, you will receive further instructions to provide to your hooder.
  • More details about the registration form will be provided to you later.

Communication and Updates

  • Your class leaders and Ostate email will be used to communicate updates and information regarding the graduation. Additionally, you can follow the #classof2024 Slack channel for important updates. If you haven't already, please join the channel to stay updated on the latest news. You can also refer to this page for important updates, ask questions, and send direct messages to Student Life.
