Innovation Review Initiative

The Innovation Review Initiative is a focused effort to provide a rural voice to innovators. Emergent technology developers often claim benefits to rural care/rural patients but rarely are rural providers part of the conversation or development process. This program enables entrepreneurs to present their healthcare products, services, or resources to rural providers to attain feedback. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit a 10-minute video promoting their innovation. Providers are then able to convey their first impressions, practical assessment of usefulness, prediction of barriers and benefits, and questions they may have about the innovation.

One objective is to raise rural physician awareness and interest in technologies aimed toward rural care. In the longer term, we anticipate these efforts will help identify promising technologies to pilot. Ultimately, they would be evaluated for deployment in rural communities and benefit providers with rural patients. Our ambitions are to bring the most innovative and exciting new technologies and solutions available to rural physicians; expand capacity, help practitioners operate as efficiently as possible; and improve access to quality care for patients.

We look forward to your participation in the Innovation Review Initiative. Thank you for bringing your rural provider voices to technology innovators.
