SAC Day of Service
Make an Impact on the Community!
Join the Staff Advisory Council in a day for serving the community that supports our staff and students. Staff will use 4 hours of admin leave for their time volunteering. First 50 registrants will receive a SAC Day of Service T-shirt. Updates for 2025 TBA.

Day of Event: September 20th, 2024
Qualifications:
- Must be a current OSU Staff/Faculty Member
- Must have your Supervisor Approval
- Must be able to travel to assigned location
Locations:
There will be multiple locations available to sign-up and volunteer. Below is the list for both Tulsa and Tahlequah.
- Tulsa Day Center - Tulsa
About the Tulsa Day Center: Tulsa Day Center serves Oklahomans who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness.

Morning Shift: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Afternoon Shift: 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
What will you be expected to do:
- Sorting and organizing donations
- Folding clean linens
- Assembling Housewarming Baskets
- Play a game or craft with guests

- Cleaning weeds and debri off of fences
- Organizing supply sheds
- Cleaning dog runs and play yards
- Moving Heavy Items*
- Washing city vehicles and dog trucks

- Take Control Initiative - On Campus
About the Take Control Initiative: TCI provides free access to all birth control methods, IUD and implant removals, Lyft rides to partner clinics, and morning-after pill kits for eligible individuals. We also offer education workshops for community members, referral trainings for partner organizations, and training opportunities for healthcare providers.

What will you be expected to do:
- Packing emergency contraceptive kits, which are available at many of our OSU clinics free of charge to anyone in the community.

- Habitat for Humanity - Tahlequah
About the Habitat for Humanity: Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.
