How to Join SAC
Interested in Joining SAC?
We'd love to have you!
Who is Eligible?
- Any OSU-CHS staff, faculty, or clinic team member
- Anyone who can regularly attend SAC meetings, held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 12:00 PM, either in person or via Zoom
Step 1: Reach Out
Email our current SAC Secretary, Elisabeth England, at elisabeth.england@state.edu to let her know you're interested in joining. She’ll send you a calendar invite to attend our next meeting.
Step 2: Attend as a Guest
Join us for your first SAC meeting as a guest to observe how we operate. You'll get a feel for our discussions, ask any questions you have, and learn more about how SAC works.
When you arrive, please make sure to sign in on the attendance form and mark yourself as a visitor. This helps us track attendance and ensure we meet voting requirements.
Note: Tracking attendance helps us confirm quorum and manage voting for council decisions.
Step 3: Confirm Your Interest
After attending as a guest, if you’d like to officially join, email the SAC Secretary before the next meeting to confirm your interest. We’ll add your name to the agenda for a vote.
Step 4: Attend & Be Voted In
Come to the next meeting and sign in as “waiting to be voted in.” If quorum is met, SAC members will vote to officially welcome you as a new member!
That's it! Welcome to SAC!
Once voted in, you’re an official member. If you have questions about attendance, participation, or anything else, feel free to contact the SAC Secretary.
Attendance Expectations
SAC members are expected to attend all regularly scheduled meetings.
- More than two consecutive unexcused absences = you’ll receive a notification
- Four consecutive or five total unexcused absences in a fiscal year = your seat may be vacated
Approved absences (such as leave) are exempt per OSU-CHS policy. If you can't attend a meeting, just let the SAC President or Secretary know ahead of time.
Participation
All SAC members are encouraged to actively participate in meetings and events we host throughout the year. Your involvement makes a difference!
