Pre-Requisites
Requirements
- All listed pre-requisite courses must be completed with a grade of B- or above
- A grade of “pass” is acceptable for courses completed in 2020
- Courses must be completed no later than December 31st of year of application
- Anticipated courses must be listed on CASPA application
- Courses must be completed at a regionally accredited institution
- Online course format is accepted
- Advanced Placement/CLEP credits can be counted for pre-requisites if the credit has been accepted by the applicant’s institution and is listed on an official transcript
1. Chemistry
- A minimum of 6.0 hours with at least 1 lab
2. College Algebra (or higher)
- A minimum of 3.0 hours
3. Anatomy
- A minimum of 3.0 hours (human cadaver anatomy preferred but not required)
4. Physiology
- A minimum of 3.0 hours
- Combined courses of anatomy and physiology are accepted
- Combined A/P need to be ≥ to 8 hours or two semesters in length
5. Microbiology
- A minimum of 3.0 hours
- Examples of course titles: Introduction to Microbiology, General Microbiology, Microbiology, etc
6. Psychology
- A minimum of 6.0 hours
- Examples of course titles: Elements of Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, etc
7. Upper Division Science
- A minimum of 6.0 hours
- Examples of course titles: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics, Histology, Pathogenic
Microbiology, Virology, etc
- Upper division Health and Exercise Science courses are acceptable
