Admission Requirements

Important Dates:

  • CASPA Application Opens: April 30th, 2021
  • CASPA Application Closes: October 1st, 2021

Due to the competitive nature of the Physician Assistant Program, the completion of admission requirements and pre-requisites does not guarantee an applicant will be awarded an interview.


OSU-CHS PA Program Application

1. Complete CASPA application - https://caspa.liaisoncas.com 

  • Application includes three letters or recommendation
    • At least one letter should be from a healthcare provider
  • Application includes two written statements

2. Pay $50 supplemental application fee to the Oklahoma State University Graduate College

  • Information on submitting payment will be available here starting 4/30/21
    • In order to submit your payment you must have a valid CASPA ID number

3. Complete GRE Exam (Use CASPA OSU Code: 4754)

  • GRE must have been completed in the past 5 years
    • If previously completed contact GRE to have official scores sent to 4754

4. Complete CASPer Exam

  • Register here: https://takecasper.com
    • Select the Oklahoma State University PA Program as a score recipient
    • Scores are only valid for one admission cycle

5. Obtain a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university by the time matriculation for the PA Program occurs 

 

6. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

 

7. All pre-requisite courses need to be completed at a regionally accredited college or university

  • View pre-requisite course list here 
  • All courses need to be completed with a grade of B or better.
  • All pre-requisite courses must be completed by December 31st of the year of application
  • Advanced Placement/CLEP credit can be counted for pre-requisite courses if the credit has been accepted by institution and is listed on their official transcript.

8. Interview (if awarded)

  • Interviews occur annually in January after each admission cycle closes

Admission Preference

Admission preference is given to Oklahoma residents and specifically those from rural and underserved communities who meet the Program mission of returning care to that area.

 

Preference is also given to applicants with:

  1. Academic Excellence
  2. Community Service
  3. Extracurricular Activites
  4. Healthcare Experience
  5. Healthcare Shadowing
  6. Leadership Roles

 

Admission Offers

Offers of admission are contingent upon:

  1. Background check
  2. Drug screen
  3. Physical exam
  4. Immunizations
  5. Acknowledgement of technical standards
