Research Outreach & Events
Research Outreach
The office of Research hosts the OKStars & Native OKStars programs every summer for local high school juniors and seniors and regularly visits local K-12 schools and after-school programs along with the BSGSA to educate local students on the purpose and importance of biomedical research.
- OKStars Program
The OKStars Program provides high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research. The program includes in-depth work with a research team, access to modern instrumentation and potential opportunities to participate in publications and presentations. Learn More
- Native OKStars ProgramThe Native OKStars program accepts applications from local Native American high school students and allows these students to conduct research with a Native primary investigator typically focusing their research efforts on studying tribal health. The students in Native OKStars receive the same opportunities as those in OKStars but the projects for Native OKStars students differ from OKStars in that they often have the opportunity to work with local tribal doctors off-site and contribute to tribal affiliated research projects.
